Songkran at Plaza Khao Gaeng

In celebration of Songkran, Plaza Khao Gaeng have created a menu of classic Thai New Year Street food specials.‘Songkran’ comes from the ancient Sanskrit word meaning ‘to pass into’ and is Thailand’s biggest annual festival marking the new year. Beginning on, 13th April Songkran is typically a three-day celebration full of street parties, with water fights playing a major role in the festivities to symbolise washing away the previous year to prepare for the next.

Plaza’s Songkran specials include quail eggs wrapped in a crispy wonton, fishballs, tofu and deep-fried franks, all with tamarind chilli sauce.
