Omakase 101

What is Omakase?

Omakase, meaning "I'll leave it to you" was a traditional phrase used throughout Japan when pulling up a stool at the sushi counter as many sushi restaurants didn't have menus. Over time, this has evolved into a modern counter experience whereby a Sushi Master prepares a bespoke menu in front of guests, talking through each course as it's served, with a focus on the quality of ingredients, seasonality and simple preparation.

What type of food is served?

Based on seasonality, the Omakase menu is monthly changing. Guests can expect a menu of nigiri, tempura and sashimi pepared by Sushi Master, Michael Nonato who talks through each course as it is served. View a sample menu here.

Where is the Omakase experience?

The Omakase experience is hosted at the Sushi Kamon counter in the main food hall of Arcade.
